Vintage 9ct Gold Knot Citrine Earrings
A striking pair of earrings from the late 20th Century, c1980s. The earrings have been made in the Victorian style and have a wonderful textured knot design. At the centre of the knots is a bright citrine, which has vivid undertones of orange. The knots hang from simple shepherds hook fixtures and the earrings are made from 9ct gold. Lovely and chunky in look, whilst feeling light in the ear.
This style of knot has been used in Victorian jewellery to represent eternity and love everlasting - 'tying the knot'. In China, the tying of the knot represents good luck and good fortune to come.
