Victorian Turquoise & Diamond Drop Earrings
A gorgeous pair of earrings from the Victorian period, c1860s. The earrings are made from 9ct gold with silver settings for the diamonds as was customary during this period. They have lovely oval turquoise gemstones that have been set in a gold pinched collet style setting at the bottom. These hang from the most exquisite tulip design, which has been set throughout with rose cut diamonds, and a slightly larger old cut diamond in a pinched collet setting to the top. The drops hang from another turquoise set in gold that has a slightly paler green colour, and the earrings have a post fixture.
The tops look to be antique, though potentially not original to the bottoms as the setting is a different style. A beautiful, elegant pair of earrings that look extremely pretty in the ear.
