Victorian Silver Miniature Milk Glass Scent Bottle
A wonderful scent bottle pendant from the mid Victorian period, c1870s. The bottle itself is made from Victorian milk glass, an opaque white glass that resembles milk with a slight sheen. It is topped by a gilded silver top, which opens to reveal a little glass stopper. The stopper can be removed and would have been used to dab scent on a lady's neck or wrists. There are still trace elements of the scent on the stopper and in the bottle. Such a pretty piece that would look beautiful on a long chain and fabulous that the original stopper is still in place.
