SOLD Victorian French 18kt Gold Bi Colour Petite Locket
A beautiful petite locket from the Victorian period, c1870s. The locket is made from solid 18kt gold and is marked just inside with the French eagles head hallmark. To the front is a bi-color gold intricate pattern with the main locket seemingly a pale rose gold and the applied garland design in yellow gold. The contrast is one used frequently in jewellery from the late 19th Century in France. The locket opens to reveal a bevelled glass insert that is hinged with the locket and can be moved to either side. It is an exquisite locket in a lovely small size.
The locket will come on a 14kt gold fill chain as pictured.
