A beautiful pair of earrings from the late Victorian period, c1880s. The earrings are made from 14kt gold and have a wonderful deep blue lapis lazuli gemstone set to the centre. The gold surround is beautifully made with a lovely ridged design and little gold balls at north, south, east and west. They have a hint of the Etruscan Revival design that was popular during the later part of the Victorian period. The earrings have the secure dormeuse fastening meaning that they hinge at the bottom and close to keep them firmly in the ear. A wonderful and simple pair of daywear earrings.
