SOLD Victorian 15ct Gold Emerald Heart Locket Padlock
A beautiful example of a heart padlock from the late Victorian period, c1880s. The puffed heart has a little etching to the front and at the centre is a beautiful vibrant green emerald. The emerald looks to be in very good condition with no chips or scrapes and sits securely in its gold frame. The padlock itself functions perfectly and could be used either as a pendant or to secure a gold bracelet. To the back is a circular glass front locket that is original to the piece and appears to have very tightly woven hair behind as is customary of these types of padlocks. I have not removed the locket back, though I believe it could be removed if required by a skilled bench jeweller.
