SOLD Edwardian 14kt Gold Opal & White Sapphire Earrings
An absolutely stunning pair of earrings from the Edwardian period, c1910s. The earrings are made from 14kt gold and have incredible opals at the centre. The opals have a wonderful play of colour and have an interesting, more natural oval shape. They are claw set and truly eye-catching. To the top and bottom are Old European cut white sapphires; one sapphire has a slightly more yellow appearance than the others, though this does not detract from the overall look of the earrings as a pair. They have a wonderful look and a real presence in the ear. Each individual setting is hinged giving the earrings a lovely fluid movement.
